III Summer School on Migration for Russian Students

On June 25-28, St. Petersburg hosted the III Summer School on Migration for Russian Students, which was attended by undergraduate student Yegor Khonin and graduate student of “Migration Studies” program Sergey Kruzhilin. The event was organized by the” Russian Red Cross Public Organization to increase participants' knowledge of the international approach to the management of mixed migration flows, vulnerable categories of migrants, international humanitarian law, the protection of the rights of migrants and refugees, the reunification of family ties, migration in the modern world and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement role in this field.

Students of anthropology research field participating in this event once again. Last year, Tomsk State University was represented by two students, Seil Dzhanyzakova (Master's program "Social Anthropology") was the one of them.

For several days participants of the School attended lectures by leading experts in the migration studies field, among them - N. Abashin and K. V. Grigorichev, lecturers of the “Migration Studies” program; participated in discussions, master classes, games and seminars on various aspects of migration issues. Participation in this event allowed to apply the gained knowledge and make it more profound.

Our students took a lot of impressions and knowledge, established many useful contacts after participation in the school. And Sergey Kruzhilin took the 3rd place in it.

The organizers of the event showed particular interest in the migration study projects implemented at TSU and the cooperation with LSAR.
